Can I go? *She came running down our front steps into the driveway right as we were getting into my car.* My plans fell through and I have nothing to do. Can I go?Kevin: No! I'm sick of your split personalities, I don't want you to ruin my night! *It kinda seemed like he was over-reacting to me. But I couldn't say anything out of shock.* Andy: *I could see tears welling up in her eyes, but she was too hard headed to let them fall.* Look! Can we just drop it and go to whereever you guys are going?!Kevin: No! I have a date tonight and I *don't* want you trying to bully her for no good reason! *Kevin didn't have a date! Me and Joe had no idea what was wrong with these two. Why was Kevin so mad about how Andy had behaved since Valentines Day? You'd think he'd be used to her schizophrenia by now!*Andy: Oh really? You think I care about your stupid date?! Some goody goody? Like I give a crap Kevin! *I could still see tears in her eyes, but she refused to cry.*Kevin: *I noticed tears in his eyes as well and finally decided to ask.*Shannon: Ok! What is going on with you two?! Why do you guys hate eachother so much? What am I missing?! *At that moment past conversations starting pouring out of my memory. Things that both Andy and Kevin had said to me. Things that I should've connected. Was I really this blind? Did I really not know that Andy and Kevin had a thing for eachother?* Oh my God! *My eyes got really wide as it dawned on me and all of the sudden I wanted to cry. I couldn't help it. I was really hurt by this. Neither one of them even bothered to tell me about their feelings. I was so caught up in my blissful agony with Joe, I didn't notice my best friend was in love. I don't know who I was more mad at. Kevin, Andy or myself.*Joe: Whoa...... *At least he got that out, he was in as much shock as I was. And Andy and Kevin were still staring at eachother. I couldn't tell if they wanted to rip eachothers heads off or start making out in front of everyone. I hoped it was the first choice....Andy: Look, *She was a lot calmer now* I'm so sorry for what I said to you on Valentines Day Kevin. I didn't mean it. I don't really think I'm too cool for you and I really like you and was just scared to say it.Kevin: *His angry expression seemed to soften a little.* How do I know you won't just change your mind when we get back to school? Me and Joe were glued to our spots. We were both on the drivers side of the car, me at the front with the door open, and Joe at the back with his door open, both of us watching Andy and Kevin on the passengers side over the top of my car. We looked at eachother, both of us wondering if the other person had even suspected.Andy: I'm not. I don't care what people think anymore. It's not like you're a dork anyway, I just liked calling you that because I've always liked you. Kevin: I've always liked you too. I hated how you made fun of me, not because of what you said, but because it was you who was saying it.He always liked her? Like, ALWAYS?! I was still unable to say a WORD!Andy: Can't we just start over? I mean, I know I can be a little difficult sometimes-Joe: That's an understatement! *I almost wanted to laugh at Joe.*Andy: *She looked at Joe, as if to say, 'Thank you, but I'm handling it.'* BUT, I'm really trying to work past that. I really wanna be with you Kevin. *She looked really hopeful while she was waiting for him to respond.*Kevin: *He looked at me and Joe like he wanted us to tell him what to say, like we were *experts* on this sort of thing. But when he got the same look from each of us, that, 'Don't ask me, I'm staying out it' look, he finally turned to Andy.* I wanna be with you too. *And then he smiled. It was exactly what he wanted to say, he just didn't know if he could. Andy smiled back.*Shannon: Well....... ok then.... *I turned and looked at Joe. I didn't know what to say to Andy and Kevin.* Joe?Joe: Yeah, I'll just ride in the front seat with you Shannon. Andy and Kevin, the back seat is all yours. *He looked kind of weirded out by the whole *Andy and Kevin* part. But then he got in the front seat and started laughing quietly to himself.*It *was* kind of amusing. They were the same age and always liked eachother. They could've been together all this time, but they weren't. I couldn't be mad at anybody for this.... Maybe me and Joe *were* good at this sort of thing. At least we weren't afraid to love eachother.
