Super Mario World Extra TAS - Part 7

Enjoy!----------------------JJames Commentary:This is a Tool-assisted Speedrun of a Super Mario World ROM hack, called Super Mario World Extra. (Original title eh?)There are a few things to note, firstly being that this is pretty much a level only hack with the exception of a couple tweaks here and there on the overworld and level names. Otherwise, the only real change is the levels. Secondly, I am no real hardcore TASer. I don't do things to frame perfection, nor do I use hidden values and such to do crazy tricks like the 16 hop. I do this with 0.3x speed and rewind states alone. I also make quite a few mistakes that I never bother going back and fixing so it's no true TAS. But still, I tried hard to complete a lot of levels as fast as I could so that accounts for something.With that out of the way, let's get onto the level comments. I do all the secret Vanilla Dome levels and the butter bridge levels now. They're all fairly difficult with two bullet bill air levels along the way, but I still manage a decent time.Ivory Well 1 (Normal) - 0:37I kinda screw up flying and climbing even more here but I did manage a double spinfly on just a block wide area so it makes up for it.Shell Road 1 - 0:30I probably could've spinflew across the whole level but it doesn't cover as much horizontal distance as fast. Check out the shell combo at the end.Bullet Bill Air 4 - 1:19Not much I can do to make this any faster. Playing with the bullet patterns is fun though, even if I could've exited the level faster by not dropping into the drink.Reznor's Fort 1 - 1:06This level is a royal pain. I did manage some decent moves for a good time though. I'm not very good at fighting Reznor like most TASers are, but this was one of my best fights yet.Bullet Bill Air 5 - 1:39Ignore the fact that this stage has a star icon...anyways, yes it's another bullet bill level. This time with nets. I abuse them to get a lot of lives out of this stage.Shell Road 3 - 0:34I made wayy too many passes across the second bridge to make sure I can fly. I fly across the whole level, though it isn't entirely boring. I end up knocking some heads near the end.Ludwig's Castle - 1:58This was a crazy level to make. I really enjoyed making it. I end up waiting a couple times in the On/Off switch segment. Ludwig gets owned by a glitch that allows you to hit him twice in one segment.
